A fun little “play date” with an adorable little lady.

I had so much fun playing with this little sweetheart. She just loved showing me all of her things and feeding her babies cupcakes and Popsicles. Her mom was worried that she wouldn’t warm up to me, but she didn’t take more than 2 minutes to be my new friend. I can’t wait to show mommy all of them, but for now, a little taste of what we captured . . .

Some bubbly-good fun in San Jose.

Oh, I just love my job! Who has a better one, really? I mean, I get to capture the joy and essence of childhood forever for countless families and I even get paid for it! Love it, seriously. Being a children’s photographer really is an awesome thing. I had some fun with one of my favorite families in San Jose recently. They have to coolest bathtub! And we added LOTS-O-BUBBLE-BATH to get these fantastic bubbles!

It is time for a post with my wonderful clients!

Things have been pretty crazy around our house/studio lately. Our nanny went home for a visit and didn’t come back (um, okay . . . ), leaving us with three young children home from school for the summer with no childcare. Wow! And we are considering some big changes around our house, we’ve been shopping for daycare for Lydia and trying to juggle the other two young ones while we work from home (craziness, seriously) and Brian has been working on pursuing a different career path. To top it off, Lydia has been sick and last night, I got it too. Perfect, I only had three photo shoots today . . . But, we “just keep swimming” as the wise Dory recommends in Finding Nemo. (By the way, I say that in my head ALL THE TIME, to keep me putting one foot in front of the other when life is crazy, which for us, seems like all the time!)

Oh, the reason for this post. So I peeked at my blog as of late, and although I am super busy with clients, my own kiddos have been stealing the show! So it is time to share a few from some of my recent sessions. Here we go!!

First, a sweet little lady enjoying a summer day on the swings.

Our Lydie-Bug rides her “bike-a-sole”

Our youngest, Lydia (or “Lydie-bug”) went out with Daddy recently to buy a tricycle and came home with two! Can you say “Wrapped around his little finger” ? Well, they were off of Craigs List, but none the less I had to smile at his indulgence of his Lydie-Bug. Last night we were all playing outside and I just couldn’t take how adorable she looked all dirty and messy on her “bike-a-sole”. Enjoy . . .

Happy Father’s Day, Brian

San Jose’s new skate park is “sick”!!

California’s largest skate park just opened right out our back door! You can imagine my little skater’s excitement. Apparently the park is “wicked” and “sick” :-) And I have to admit, even I was wide eyed at the sight. Check out my super-cool skater testing the bowls, rails and half-pipes.

How adorable! Our Short & Sweet location for July . . .

We only have three spaces left for our Short & Sweet sessions in July and they are going to go fast once you all see how fun this location is! Here is little Matthew, showing it off for us. This is an alley just off Main near the 17 bridge. Isn’t it great?

“Miss-Alayneous” strikes again.

Okay, can I just say, I LOVE THAT GIRL! She is simply the most positive person I have ever met. She has been happy since birth. She used to smile so big while having her diaper changed that people fought for a turn at changing her. She is simply as happy as they come. And her sunny outlook combines beautifully with her random little mind. I made pancakes for breakfast before school yesterday and Alayna, out of nowhere and with total earnestness says, “Mommy, it is so perfect that you made pancakes for breakfast today! There are exactly seven days of school left. .” Yeah, um, perfect, Miss-Alayneous”.

Ah . . . summer!

Well, summer isn’t quite official yet, but gosh, it sure feels like its coming! The kids are finishing up school and getting ready for blissful days of lazy fun. Man, I long to be a kid again, especially in the summer!
**Just a little reminder, speaking of summer; our summer is almost booked solid. There are no more full-custom sessions left until September but we do have a couple of Short & Sweet sessions in June (that is the evening at Bramhal park), some really cool Short & Sweets in Los Gatos in July and a handful of spaces left for the Blue Sky event in San Francisco in August. Fall has space, BUT Brian may be going back to work soon, in which case, space will be quite limited, so if you are planning on it, don’t wait to book!

Here are a couple of very “summery” images. I would LOVE to have a swing like this, wouldn’t you?

A sneak peek from the beach.

These busy little guys keep their mom and dad running! And their photographer, too. :-) It was cool to shoot at the beach, where little boys can be, well, little boys! I especially love Capitola’s city beach for my photo sessions. Isn’t the Bay Area great? I mean, we have urban settings and redwood forests and yellow meadows and beaches! I am the luckiest children’s photographer in the world.
