If you’ve been following my blog over the years you’ve seen this video of my daughter, Lydia, when she turned three (I believe my new videos will be much better. I literally took my new camera out of the box and went to this shoot). Ever since that video I’ve hoped to add movies to my offerings. That was three and a half years ago! Well, I just got a new camera with even better video, upgraded my Adobe software to include Premier. I’m all set . . . except . . . I have no idea how it would flow or what the best balance between video and photo would be. Not to mention, before I start charging for this service (which I estimate will start at $1200 for the session and the finished video, with prints etc sold separately), I really need to have some good samples. So . . . I need my first model family (perhaps two families, we’ll see). Just think, $1200 service for FREE. Will it be you? Do you have:
-Two or more adorable children under the age of 10.
-A reasonably well-lit, somewhat stylish home (please don’t worry if it is not perfect, but reasonable coolness a plus. Think Ikea). I may be flexible on this and if you have an idea for a great location that you love to be in, that could work too (think donut shop and the beach or something)
-A happy, fun-loving family who enjoys spending time together, doing activities with one another.
-A pretty laid back attitude (I am not sure my best model family would include mamas who compulsively comb hair at photo shoots. Sorry ladies, that’s just not my style. You are free to book your own though, and we’ll memorialize your hair combing prowess for future generations)
If you think you may be the perfect family to be my models, please submit to firstname.lastname@example.org :
-A few photos (phone photos are perfect) of your home and/or spaces your family hangs out in.
-A list of ideas for what you might like to capture as a family: making banana pancakes, playing cards, tickle fights, building forts in the cushions, dancing, eating doughnuts, you name it.
-Photos and brief description of your family and why you would be the perfect candidate.
Be sure to share this opportunity with your friends or family, especially if you know the “perfect” family for the job.
Now . . . let the submissions begin. This is going to be my most exciting project in years. I have goosebumps!
