An oink and a buzz and a lotta’ little sweethearts.

I had the pleasure of photographing a local Las Madres group’s little ones at their Halloween party at the park. I have never seen so many adorable little costumes. Can you believe that there was not one costume I saw twice. We had two bees, but they had their own “take” on it :-)  Check out the cuteness!!

**Las Madres mamas and daddys- We will be posting your link tonight and you will have until next Wednesday, November 5th at midnight to complete your orders. Enjoy!!

Back by popular demand-Blue Sky Studios!

In August we had our first Blue Sky Studio event in San Francisco and it was a smash hit. All of the families that were lucky enough to get on the calendar before it booked (it didn’t take long) LOVED their images. The studio is so fresh and bright-it is really the perfect modern setting. Simply loving it and have to do it again! This is also the PERFECT opportunity to get some Christmas shopping in the bag!!  The date is Saturday, November 8th. Visit the bookings page to find available times. These are a special edition of Short & Sweets and they are 30 minute sessions with a complimentary 11×14. The cost is just $225. Here are some of the beautiful children I had the privilege of photographing at our last event. Aren’t they adorable?

A Short & Sweet at a sweet Willow Glen location

Downtown Willow Glen is such a cool, adorable location. I just love it! The Willow Glen set loves it too. You can always spot a little family walking down Lincoln for some Frozen Custard, a slice of PizzaMyHeart pizza or a meal at Aquis. A great new boutique, Baby Buzz, is nestled right in the heart of Lincoln’s main drag. You have got to check it out. Not only do they have adorable baby gifts and products, but Karen, the owner, coordinates a variety of great opportunities for mothers there. AND there is a great little play area that keeps your toddlers busy while you shop! Karen and I have teamed up to bring you a morning of Short & Sweet sessions in October that we know will fill up fast. We will be shooting both outside, for a cool, urban look and inside, with the fun, colorful walls as our backdrop. Check out Baby Buzz , our booking information and book your spot today!

Here are a few shots of my little Lydie-bug inside Baby Buzz and out on Lincoln Ave.

Off we go!!

Yay! Our family vacation is finally here! Every year for the last eight summers we have spent our vacation time and money heading from San Jose to Minnesota and Michigan (with some rendezvous in Wisconsin) to visit our families. We so adore that time and love love love staying connected with our loved ones. But this year, due to our big life change (Brian and I working together and making one income “work”) we decided that a big trip to the mid-west was not a wise choice. Instead, we sent our middle two as family ambassadors, and planned to do something fun at home. But then, our wheels began to turn. What if we head up the coast and visit our friends in Portland and our family in Washington? That would be fun. So we spent a Sunday afternoon looking through camping and travel books about HWY 1 and the beautiful coast. But “Houston, we have a problem!”; we sold all of our camping gear last fall to make room in the garage for Brian’s office. Well, okay, hotels then, but suddenly, our plan cheap road trip plans were adding up. Hmmm. . . thinking outside the box, or van, or airplane . . . what about a train?? Within a few days of coming up with our brilliant plan, we had six round-trip tickets on the Coast Starlight, Amtrak’s flag-ship line, up the coast of California, Oregon and into Washington. Now, how cool is THAT? Best part? The tickets were $100 each way per person!! Um, wow! So there you have it; the Mayer family adventure is about to begin. I am excited and a little nervous. Four kids on a train, in the dark, in the rain . . . wait, I am waxing Dr. Suess. Anyway, it should be a blast, and of course, there will be MANY photos to prove it (or show how crazy it is). Who knows, maybe I will convert you all to rail travel!
