Once your photo session has taken place we know that you will be eager to view what we captured and to choose the best ways to display your images. We hope that while you wait you will take a little time to review your options and to take a look around your home and envision what you might like to do with your images. We offer a variety of options for you from classic to unique and we will help you find the perfect combination for your personal style.
So What is My Ordering Session All About?
This is a time that we have set aside especially for you and it is Anna’s favorite part! Seeing your reaction when you see your images for the first time is one of the true blessings of this profession. We are able to capture for you a moment in time that will never come again; what a treasure! We will have two hours blocked off for you to review your images and make all of your selections so don’t worry if you feel like you are taking too long; we have time. Due to the nature of our small, custom business, we ask that you respect the time we put into preparing for your visit and only reschedule for a true emergency. We know that it can be hard to choose, but we will help you. During your ordering session we will go over all the options, you will have a chance to see all of your images in a slide show set to music, in 5×7 bordered prints in a leather album and on a large screen. Together we will find the perfect fit.
Your Appointment
We love your kids! That is why we do what we do. As much as we love them, we want you to have a relaxing ordering session and to take a moment to enjoy, though images, what a blessing they are. This is best accomplished if they kids are happily playing at Grandma’s or with their favorite sitter. We promise that once you sit down, lean back and start enjoying your slide show, you will be grateful for Grandma’s loving care.
We also love your husbands, wives, mothers and best friends, and if they are likely to be participants in the decision making process, bring them along! It is important that you bring anyone whose opinion is needed to help you make your final choices.
Preparing for your ordering session
Custom photography is exactly that, custom. We want to create wall displays, storybooks and other products that will bring your memories to life everyday in a way that is distinctly you. The best way to do that is for you to do a little homework. Preparing for your ordering appointment will allow you to make choices that you will be happy with in the long run, knowing exactly where you would like to hang the artwork and whom you want to share it with. Before you come in, please read through this information to familiarize yourself with what is available. Then, print out these quick PDF forms and take a few minutes to fill them out. Bring them with you when we get together to make your selections and we promise you won’t regret the extra steps!
Before you come in
Every family is different, of course, and there is no obligation to spend a certain dollar amount. What is most typical, though, is for clients to spend between $1500 and $3500 on their session order. In that range you can expect to walk away with just the right amount of “captured happiness” from your session. If you think that an order of $1000 or more is beyond what you are able to afford right now, we recommend that you look into our Short & Sweet Sessions, which are perfect for clients looking to spend $400 to $1000 on their order.
What we offer
Classic, Modern, and Canvas Prints
One of your goals, no doubt, in choosing Anna to capture your child, is to have beautiful prints to hang on the walls of your home. At Images by Anna we provide you with a variety of services to fit every home and style.
Our classic prints are beautiful, matte finish photographs, professionally printed, sprayed with a luster coating for extra protection and then mounted on a sturdy hardboard (for prints larger than 5×7) for stability. These prints can safely be framed and enjoyed for years to come.
For a more modern look our masonite or foam-core mounted prints are the perfect choice. Printed to the same high standards as our classic prints, they are mounted on a harder low-warp surface that allows you to hang them directly on the wall or with relief for a dramatic and truly unique look.
For a true heirloom piece, we suggest a canvas finish for your portrait. All canvas pieces are professionally printed and stretched over a wooden frame. For a contemporary look, choose a gallery wrap canvas where the image wraps around the stretcher frame – no additional framing is necessary. If you prefer the traditional look of a framed canvas, no problem; just take your finished canvas to your local framers.
Signature Prints
Sometimes there is a series of images that, when put together, tell a wonderful story. For these images we have storyboards. These are multiple images put together on either a 10×20 or 15×30 mounted print for a fun and creative display.
Every one of your images is individually edited, bordered and custom-named in your First Edition Album; it’s like Anna’s signature. You are able to choose your prints that way as well, for a finished and unique look. But we can also print them for you in the classic full-bleed if you prefer, ready for you to mat and frame.
Custom Framing
We have a carefully chosen selection of frame styles that readily compliment our portraits. If you typically take your portraits to be custom framed, take a look at some of the samples at the studio and consider letting us frame your portraits for you.
Choosing the right size

An 8×10 is often thought of as the standard enlargement size but we encourage you to think larger for your personal portrait collection. Print sizes starting at 11×14 are traditional wall portrait sizes, meaning that the portrait is best viewed from a distance of three feet or more, which is a comfortable distance for a viewer to stand from the wall. Also, think of the impact you want your portrait to have on guests in your home. A 20×24 portrait makes a statement and draws the viewer in from across the room to “take in” the image. An 8×10 portrait on the wall draws the viewer closer simply because they cannot see the image from a distance.
Below is a size reference to show wall portrait sizes set to scale against an 8 foot couch. Our standard Wall Portrait (20×24) is highlighted in GREEN.
When you have a wild and crazy photo shoot, a spectacularly beautiful family or just a whole lotta’ captured fun, a wall collage is the perfect solution to display your joyful images. This is the exception to the “don’t go hanging those tiny 10×10′s on the wall” rule. We can design for you some fantastic options that are unique, beautiful, modern and best of all, incorporate a lot of happy images without filling the entire house with one session’s images. First Edition Albums
These beautiful one of a kind albums are a sure hit with our clients. It is the perfect solution when you want every image (and we promise, you will) These leather albums showcase all of your session images in 5×7 prints with customized titles that add whimsy and life to them. The best part; you get to take it home the same day!
Storybooks
Once you hold and experience our gorgeous storybooks you will simply have to have one for yourself. These books are exquisitely crafted of the highest quality materials and feature your favorite images, laid out in a beautiful and unique way. Each book is a one-of-a-kind treasure that you will find yourself opening to enjoy again and again. Order a second copy to keep for your child as a treasured heirloom.
Accordion Brag Books
Grandma and Grandpa will be just thrilled when you give them their very own accordion brag book featuring 14 of your favorite images from your session. With a beautiful leather cover and lined box it is the perfect gift for just about anyone who loves your child.
Greeting Cards
Our beautiful greeting cards are as wonderful as they are unique. After-all, what could be more unique than a greeting card featuring your child or your family? Popular for birth announcements, holiday cards and just sweet little note cards featuring your child, our lovely custom greeting cards are a special treat. We offer a variety of sizes and two levels of customization to accommodate your unique needs. Greeting cards are available on orders of $500 or more and come in quantities of 25 with a minimum of 50. If you have a special card request, let us know via email before your ordering session and we will prepare a couple of designs just for you.
Digital Media
Of course you want beautiful prints; nothing can compare to a wonderful work of art on your walls. And our First Edition books and amazing Storybooks are sure to delight for years to come. But in our digital age there is something fun and functional about having your images in digital form. Your images are available in a variety of digital formats as add-ons to any of our Collections.
An online slide show is complimentary with the purchase of any collection or your First Edition Album. This slide show is located on our server and a link is sent to you that you can forward to share with family and friends. All slide show links are posted indefinitely; however, we don’t guarantee or promise that it will be posted for any particular length of time. Pretty much we just leave them up until we need server space and then we clear out the oldest ones.
For those who would like media resolution files to use for email, Facebook, personal websites, photo frames and screen savers, we have the solution for you. You can purchase 5 screen-resolution files (usually about 768px tall) for $150 or your entire set for $450. The resolution of the files is great for digital use, however they will not produce quality prints. Images by Anna retains the copyright.
For those who would like to have the peace of mind of knowing that they can have access their original high-resolution image files for years to come, we offer the entire set of Digital Negatives on a tiered pricing structure. See the price List or Investment page for details. If you’d like to purchase digital negatives individually for $150 each, rather than as a set, you may do that as long as a print of at least 10×10 of the image has also been purchased.
Every now and then, our clients find that they have a vendor they love and they would like to use their images to create special one-of-a-kind items like photo purses, necklaces etc. For you we offer vendor uploads. Simply put, you purchase the upload from us, put us in contact with the vendor and we upload the appropriately sized file to the third party for you. Easy!
When you come in for your ordering session you will view your session images in a beautiful High Definition slide show set to music. This same video is available for $250 and will be delivered to you in DVD format in a beautiful leather case and lined storage box (Blu-ray upgrades are available). We have a special gift for those of you who have taken the time to do your homework.
