General
Anywhere your kids are comfortable. Usually that's at home, but it could also be a park, beach, or cool urban spot. If you don't want the session at home, Anna or Brian can certainly make recommendations for certain locations depending on the time of year and time of day.
As soon as you can! Check the
session page to see what will be available in the coming months for your area. Two to three months is typical. If you are booking less than 2 months before your desired session date, availability, particularly in San Jose and on weekends, may be limited.
Yes, but ....
We know that many photographers out there will do a session and hand over a disc of files. That's fine for them, but that's not for us. We want to help you tell your story through beautiful art that's a part of your life, not stuck in a digital drawer. Our goal is to provide you with amazing wall galleries, beautiful albums, outstanding greeting cards, and exquisite custom storybooks. By working with the top professional labs and vendors that are calibrated to provide spot-on color and clarity, we are able to give you the best possible products in the industry. This is our top priority. We've taken the headache out of figuring out what to do, where to do it, what's good, and what's not. This is what we do. We're the artistic experts. That's why you want us after all, right?
Having said that, we understand that sometimes people want to have digital files for other reasons (personal archive, sharing online, digital frames, iPads, etc...) so we do have some digital options available as upgrades to our collections. If you just want to share your session online with family and friends, each collection includes a private online slideshow that you can share with them. Additionally, we offer both low, screen resolution versions (digital frames and online) and high, print resolution files at various prices as add-ons to our Collections.
It depends. For most Custom Sessions, one year; for most Short & Sweet Sessions, one month. We say "most" because there are exceptions. For instance, if you do a Short & Sweet and order one of the higher collections, you'll get a one year archive. If you do a custom session and do not order a collection, we only store the photos that were ordered. Simply put, if you want it, get it right away. Chances are, if you wait, you're probably not going to get around to it anyway, right? If you want your files available for long-term printing/projects/archive, we recommend buying them either a la carte or as a complete set.
Investment
The initial fee you pay is to engage the talent of an artist in custom work. Think of it as the cost of commissioning custom art. Galleries, prints, albums, files, etc... will be available for purchase.
Well, that all depends on what you are looking to get! Doesn’t it always? If you just want a few prints, we recommend a Short & Sweet Session and a budget of $400-1000. If you'd like a custom session, but don't need a big gallery, you could walk away with a session and some prints for under $1000. If you like our Wall Galleries, you'll want to budget at least a couple thousand. Some clients with large galleries and custom books spend upwards of $6000. Most custom session clients will spend $1500-3000.
No, not on the order; however, certain products are only available either within a collection or as an add-on to a collection.
