General
Our goal is to provide you with beautiful works of art to enjoy in amazing wall galleries, in your beautiful session album, outstanding greeting cards, and in exquisite custom storybooks. By working with top professional labs and vendors that are calibrated to provide spot-on color and clarity, we are able to give you the best possible products in the industry. This is our top priority. In addition, we provide a slideshow link with the purchase of the session album for you to forward to friends and family to enjoy and a DVD slideshow for purchase that you can enjoy again and again. Having said that, we do know that many of you would love to have your own “copies” of the files to keep as personal archives or to share on blogs and web pages, so we have come up with a solution that we believe meets both needs adequately. We offer both low, screen resolution versions (digital frames and online) and high, print resolution files at various prices as add-ons to our Collections. Collection pricing begins at $1100.
Custom Sessions
How far in advance should I book my session?
As soon as you can; 2-3 months is typical. If you are booking less than 2 months before your desired session date, availability may be limited.
Anywhere your kids are comfortable. Usually that's at home, but it could also be a park, beach, or cool urban spot. If you don't want the session at home, Anna can certainly make recommendations for certain locations depending on the time of year and time of day.
What “comes with” our session fee?
Your session fee covers Anna’s time and talent, including; a pre-session phone consultation, your photo shoot, her time in the “studio” choosing the gems and preparing them for presentation, 25-35 “proofs” to choose from, an ordering appointment that will include a beautiful slideshow of your images set to music and will bring you to tears and Anna’s time with you that will open your eyes to the possibilities available to you to display your family for years to come. It is all about the “experience”! *Prints, digital files, books and more are available for additional purchase.
Ordering
How long do you keep the negatives/files?
We archive all purchased images in multiple formats and locations to ensure the safe keeping for three years. So for example, if you purchase a Collection, you are getting the First Edition Album which contains all of your images. Since that product has all of your images in it, all of your photos would be archived. If you choose to purchase individual prints, only the files for those prints will be archived.
How long does it take to receive my order?
In most cases, within 4 weeks of placing your order, you should receive your prints. Some greeting cards may take up to 6 weeks; Saratoga Frames and storybooks take 8-10 weeks.
Investment
Well, that all depends on what you are looking to get! Doesn’t it always? Generally speaking, after the session fee, prints, and other products, clients who book a custom session should expect to spend between $1500-$3500, and $500-$1500 for a Short & Sweet.
Are there any minimum order requirements?
Yes and no. There aren’t any minimum requirements for your entire order, but there are a few products that are only available after certain order requirements have been met. For instance, if you’d like to order greeting cards, you must first purchase at least $500 in prints; furthermore, greeting cards also have a minimum order of 50. If you’d like to purchase digital files, they are only available as an add-on to any of our Collections.
Installation
How do I hang my Masonite mounted prints?
We get asked about hanging masonite all the time. Here are some basic guidelines. If this seems daunting (or you just don’t feel like doing it), in January and July we do offer professional gallery installation. It is $200 for the first 8 prints and $15 for each additional. 3M Command Picture Hanging Strips are the way to go. 2-4 small or medium sized strips per print does the trick. Here are some other methods you could use as well. **For masonite up to 11×14 on regular walls. Little to no wall damage upon removal.** For typical residential walls with little or no texture, you can use Scotch Removable Foam Mounting Squares (available at Staples). Each package contains four sheets of four squares for a total of sixteen squares. For prints up to 8×10 only one square per corner is necessary, but for prints up to 11×14, you’ll need two squares per corner. These are removable, however every time you move it, the adhesive power is reduced, therefore take care in the initial positing to do it correctly. Repositioning them even three or four times an cause the adhesive to be weakened to the point that the prints may fall. **For prints larger than 11×14 and/or on more heavily textured walls. Possible wall damage on removal.** For these I would use adhesive backed velcro. The bigger the print, the wider the velcro. A 1? long 1/2? wide strip (per corner) should be fine for small prints, then increase the length and width accordingly based on the print size. **For extreme textured walls (brick/stucco). Definite minimal to moderate wall damage.** Get Adhesive Mount Sawtooth hangers from University Art, but DO NOT USE THE ADHESIVE AS IS. The adhesive that comes on these is poor and will NOT hold up your prints. Removed the adhesive cover, but you a commercial spray adhesive (like 3M’s 90 Spray Adhesive) to mount the hanger to the print. Then use concrete nails in your wall and hang the pictures as you would any other thing you would hang.
