I have been a part of potty-training many kids. As a daycare provider and as a mom, I observed the kids whoes parents waited until they were three or “ready” and the trouble is, three year olds are interested in pleasing only one person-himself. Two year olds, on the other hand, want nothing more than Mommy's claps and praises. And despite the “wisdom” of the last few years, two year olds are ofter more than ready. Even some boys. Isaiah was 26 months when he was completely trained in two days (okay, I DON'T get credit for him, he was unique) But if I had waited until he was three, I would have wasted money, the environment, my time and energy changing diapers, and most importantly, I would have taken away an opportunity for my son to accomplish something independent and “big boy”.
I am not saying every kid has to be trained young, or even can be. Tyler was much different than the others, but overall, the younger seems to be the better. . .
